FIFA Code of Conduct

  • RPFC endorses FIFA’s rules for fair play:
  • Play the game for the game’s sake
  • Be generous when you win
  • Be graceful when you lose
  • Be fair always, no matter what the cost
  • Obey the laws of the game
  • Work for the good of your team
  • Accept the decisions of the officials with good grace
  • Believe in the honesty of your opponents
  • Conduct yourself with honor and dignity

Coaches Code of Conduct

  • Show respect for yourself, your players and your opponents.
  • Do not use or tolerate abusive or profane language from any club member, coach or fan.
  • Be gracious in victory and dignified in defeat.
  • The Director of Coaching will review the status of any coach who is ejected from  a game..
  • Do not talk to fans, opposing players, or opposing coaches during games, except to offer congratulations or assistance.
  • Coaching from the sidelines is prohibited.  During games should be limited and positive.
  • Do not argue with officials.  Talk to them in a positive, respectful manor.
  • Do not criticize a player in front of other players.
  • Support other ASSA / RPFC trainers, coaches, teams, and players.
  • Wear appropriate attire to all training sessions and games in accordance with club and coaching contracts.
  • Tobacco, alcohol, and all illegal drugs are prohibited when in contact with any club members.
  • Improper contact or relationships with players will result in immediate expulsion.
  • Coaches must not share hotel rooms with girlfriends or boyfriends.
  • Coaches must attend all meetings called by the DOC
  • Be well prepared. Plan your session beforehand using curriculum provided by DOC.
  • Be punctual and prepared for all training sessions and games.
  • Be positive with the children.  Encourage good discipline within the group.
  • Ensure that the players are never left unsupervised at any stage during or after a session.
  • Learn the players names, but do not use nicknames.
  • Toilet breaks for young children.  Must send children in two’s (never alone) during the session as required.
  • Coaches must familiarise themselves with facility fire evacuation procedure and identify emergency exists and muster points prior to their first session.
  • Set high standards for yourself and the players you are coaching.  Lead by example.
  • When disciplining individual players, include the Team Manager in all discussions with the player.
  • Report any accidents to the Club Manager and DOC.
  • If you encounter any problems with players or parents, provide a summary of the conflict to the Club Manager who will report it to the DOC.
  • The coach should be the last person to leave the coaching area.  He/she should also make sure that the players collect in the equipment at the end of their session.  If you must leave a session before the players, confirm that your Team Manager will be present.
  • If you are unable to attend a session you must inform the DOC.
  • The coach must follow the curriculum issued by the DOC.
  • If a player is injured, you must fill out an accident report and provide it to the Club Manager. 
  • Understand the laws of the game and ensure that players understand and follow them.
